The Cedar Valley Lakes Trail in Waterloo is closed for an emergency sewer repair. Crews are closing the trail from Vinton Street to the city’s east border. The closure could last up to six weeks.

All trails in Ulrich Park are unmarked, single track, social trails. The Chicago Central Railroad tracks cut through the park with a beautiful tunnel built underneath the track. Ulrich Park is a hidden gem with very little foot traffic and great place to view all that nature has to offer.  

Donated in 1965, this Park is a combination of upland and floodplain woodlands on the west bank of the Cedar River. It functions as a nature preserve. Park boundaries extend across the main river channel to include a small section of the east end of the island west of Cottage Row Drive.
