Named for the light rail line that once ran between downtown Waterloo and Cedar Falls in the 1940s and 50s, this pretty trail runs for about two miles along that old rail grade.
The trail parallels Rainbow Drive, linking Grand Boulevard just west of Hackett Road, with Ansborough Avenue near the Cattle Congress grounds. The trail is unpaved for the first quarter mile at Grand Boulevard, but becomes paved at Green Hill Trail and continues that way to Ansborough.
Parking for this trail is available at the small lot just north of Rainbow Drive on North Hackett Road past the Viaduct.
