The West 1st Street Trail is a 1.5-mile, multi-use, side path trail connecting Hudson Road with Union Road in the northwest side Cedar Falls. It is part of the Hudson Road/Union Road Loop.

The trail turns into a sidewalk on its east end, going into downtown Cedar Falls. With care, this will connect your to the Cedar Valley Lakes Trail and the rest of the trail system.

No dedicated trail parking is available for this path. Parking may be available on-street, but be sure to follow any posted parking signs. Those with parking permits for the University of Northern Iowa may park at any of the numerous parking lots around the sports facilities off of Hudson Road. The trail is easily reached on the north end of Hudson Road in Cedar Falls.
